When we all fall asleep where do we go?
where do we go when we die
I’ll be honest, I was slow to get into Billie Eilish wholeheartedly because of the hype. Maybe I had already heard around «Bellyache» and «Bad Guy» because the younger internet crowd is obsessed with «13 Reasons Why» and viral videos of pugs in suits and wigs. To counteract this mindless saturation, along came When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?», the debut album from this teenage prodigy, who could return to her roots in today’s pop scene.
This leads me to revisit the release of When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, an album that breaks the paradigms of the form and aesthetics of pop created by women in this decade, since Billie Eilish opted for a more intimate creative process, in the comfort of her bedroom with her brother and partner in crime Finneas O’Connell, with whom she produced and wrote most of her songs.
The concept the brothers put forward in the album is very clear throughout the fourteen songs, in which she explores love, desires, instincts -killers-, addictions, memories, wounds, self-destructive behaviors, fear, death, in other words, the human unconscious.
what happens when we sleep
Most of us have probably incorporated as part of our lives the magnificent fact of sleeping, every day, all our lives. Little is said about the reality of sleep or its veracity. Little do we know about that instant where we leave the world.
There are several theories that try to explain why we sleep. One of them is that during this time we recover substances that we lose during wakefulness. Then, resting would not be enough to recover them, because we would have to turn off the wakefulness switch so that they do not continue to be used up.
Sleeping allows us to really travel to another world. And it is good that this world becomes friendly or pleasant for us. When we are afraid of the world that sleep takes us to, we get into trouble. And sometimes we don’t want to get out of a bad one, to get into a worse one.
And answering the question that heads the writing «Where do we go when we sleep?» I think we go to our inner self. Which is sometimes close, sometimes far away. Sometimes we are monsters, sometimes nymphs or heroes, and we are full of reality and life transformed in a magical way by our neurobiology.
what happens to our soul when we sleep
Billie Elish’s debut album «WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?» is a collection of fourteen songs that materialize as ghostly pop projections from the multi-platinum singer as she takes her first strokes reflecting loss and love between the monsters that live under her bed and the triumphs that lie at her feet.

where we go when we dream
There were about 400 temples; the cult of Asclepius, son of Apollo, was introduced in Athens in 420 B.C. and with it came the cult of snakes. A snake climbing up his staff became the caduceus, symbol of medicine. The temples of Asclepius, called Aesculapius by the Romans, were in force for a millennium, being present until 500 AD.
